2006

"CR Airways Limited" was renamed as "Hong Kong Airlines Limited” in September.

Introduced the first Boeing B737 passenger aircraft and launched passenger services between Hong Kong and Mainland China.

2010

Operating aircraft increased to 10 with first Airbus A330 joining the fleet.

Increased services between Hong Kong and Beijing, Shanghai and Bangkok.

First Airbus A330F cargo freighter joins fleet and launched first cargo service between Hong Kong and Hangzhou.

2011

First 4-star rating awarded by Skytrax

Added new passenger services between Hong Kong and Okinawa as well as Bali

Passenger traffic exceeded one million, serving 19 destinations.

2012

Operating fleet reached 20 aircraft and added Taipei to network.

Passenger traffic exceeded 2.5 million, serving 25 destinations.

First Airbus A320 passenger joins the fleet. 

2013

Airbus-only fleet.

Proud sponsor of local TV drama series “Triumph in the Skies II".

Passenger traffic exceeded four million.

2014

Ho Chi Minh City, Tianjin and Kagoshima added to passenger services.

2015

Launched Miyazaki, Yancheng and Nanchang services

Increased frequencies to Bangkok, Kagoshima and Nanjing

Recognised for safety excellence in HKIA Airport Safety Recognition Scheme.

2016

Launched services to Auckland, Cairns, Gold Coast, Kuching, Okayama, Osaka, Phnom Penh,  Saipan, Seoul, Tokyo and Yonago

2017

Became an international carrier with new services to Vancouver and Los Angeles.

Delivery of first Airbus A350 aircraft. 

Airport lounge “Club Autus” officially opened.

Launched Hong Kong Airlines Cadet Pilot Programme.

Hong Kong Airlines Million Challenge kicked off.

Second in “Best Regional Airline Asia” and 24th in the “Top 100 Airlines” by Skytrax

2018

Added San Francisco, Maldives, Manila and Moscow to network

Collaboration with celebrity chefs Gabriel Choy and Chris Cosentino for enhanced Business Class dining experience.

Topping-out for Hong Kong Airlines Aviation Training Centre.

Listed in Top 20 Airlines by Skytrax.

Launched new Business Class product on Airbus A350, including new seats and inflight entertainment system. 

Revamped inflight magazine from “Aspire” to “+852”.

2019

Official opening of HKA Training Academy, one of the most technologically advanced training facility in the region.

2020

Operated Embrace “Home” Kong flight for the community.
