The sky is the limit! Take off to an exciting career with Hong Kong Airlines Cadet Pilot Programme, designed to offer those passionate about aviation with the necessary skills to realise their dreams of becoming a pilot.
Programme Features.
You will initially undergo 'ab-initio' flight training delivered in partnership with L3 Commercial Training Solutions, Airline Academy (New Zealand), an approved flight training organisation by Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, in order to obtain a Hong Kong Commercial Pilot's Licence with Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) and successfully pass the Hong Kong Airlines Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory examinations.
Upon successful completion of CPL/IR and ATPL examinations, Cadet Pilots will be sent for multi-crew co-operation training using medium jet simulator. Upon completion of the approximately 70-week course at Hamilton, New Zealand and/or UK, you will have the opportunity to fly as a second officer with Hong Kong Airlines and realise your dream as a professional pilot.

More destinations.
A record-breaking 11 new destinations were announced in 2016.
The launch of Gold Coast, Cairns and Auckland services in 2016 demonstrated the airline's strategic expansion in the international market, and further strengthened its presence in Asia Pacific.
The airline stepped up its global market expansion with new destinations in North America, including Vancouver in June 2017 and Los Angeles in December 2017. This will be followed by the launch of new services to San Francisco, New York and London in 2018.

Diversity: The comprised of more than 40 current pilot team is over 550 pilots from countries.
Training Centre.
A new state-of-the-art training centre costing approximately HK$1.8 billion is expected to open in 2019. The training centre will be able to house 12 full flight simulators, a large safety training centre with a full-sized aircraft cabin mock-up, as well as facilities for training crew in fire and smoke related emergency, training pool and emergency slides for evacuation practice.
Young Fleet.
Hong Kong Airlines operates an all-Airbus fleet, comprising of 35 aircraft with an average age of around five years. The airline will progressively take delivery of 21 Airbus A350 aircraft - the first of which was delivered in September of 2017.

Requirements.
Hong Kong Permanent Resident:
At least 18 years old;
Have completed secondary education with good passes in maths and science; or a degree/ diploma in any discipline;
Obtained IELTS level 5.5 standard or higher;
Physically fit and quality for HKCAD class one medical certificate.
Selection process:
-Online screening
-English and Numeracy paper test and Group Exercise
-L3 Assessments
-HKCAD Class 1 Medical Assessment/English Pre-Screening Test
-Final interview
Career progression:
-SECOND OFFICER,
12 months, subject to performance.
-FIRST OFFICER,
Obtained full Hong Kong ATPL Licence.
-CAPTAIN,
Subject to performance and vacancies.
-TRAINING CAPTAIN,
Passion to instruct and subject to performance & vacancies.
Hong Kong Airlines support - Possible job offer for other departments with Hong Kong Airlines organisation,
if the cadet due to unforeseen circumstances is unable to complete the Cadet Pilot Training.
