- Through Check-in Baggage Service
We are pleased to offer a through check-in baggage service to our passengers. If you are travelling on a single through ticket involving multiple airlines, or on separate tickets for flights operated by Hong Kong Airlines, we will be happy to assist with through check-in and forward your baggage directly to your final destination.
Please note that if you are travelling on two separate tickets, where the baggage allowance on one ticket is calculated under the weight concept and the other under the piece concept, the baggage allowances will be calculated separately. In accordance with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations, when a passenger's onward journey is covered by separate tickets, the journey is deemed to be governed by two different contracts of carriage, and forwarding baggage through to the final destination does not fall within the responsibility of the originating airline. Accordingly, Hong Kong Airlines is unable to provide a through baggage service for passengers holding two separate tickets, and your baggage can only be checked through to destinations operated by Hong Kong Airlines. Upon arrival at the airport, passengers will be required to collect their checked baggage and proceed to the next airline's check-in counter to complete check-in formalities afresh.
