Tender for Inflight Duty-free Sales Services
Hong Kong Airlines is seeking a qualified and experienced vendor to provide inflight duty-free sales and operation services. The selected provider will be exclusively responsible for operating duty-free sales on all Hong Kong Airlines flights.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
• Provision of a comprehensive range of duty-free products, including but not limited to cosmetics, fragrances, electronics, jewellery, and spirits.
• Management of inventory, including procurement, storage, uplift and distribution.
• Providing customer service and support.
• Supplying and maintaining Point of Sale (POS) systems for in-flight transactions.
• Implementing a robust sales tracking and reporting system.
• Coordinating and maintaining close communication with Hong Kong Airlines and their cabin crew, continuously optimizing products and services, as well as providing appropriate incentives to boost sales.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested providers must meet the following criteria:
• Proven experience in managing in-flight duty-free sales for airlines.
• Strong supply chain management capabilities.
• Ability to provide a wide range of high-quality, reasonably priced duty-free products.
• Solid operation and sales capabilities, including fulfilling all reporting functions.
• Compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Proposal Requirements
Proposals should include but not limited to the following:
• Company information: Certificate of Incorporation and Business Registration in Hong Kong, shareholder information and Duty-free Operation Licenses.
• Commerce and Finance: Core terms and agreement with Hong Kong Airlines, revenue sharing plan, proposed product offering and price list, agreements or authorization letters from brands or suppliers.
• Operation: Rental agreement of warehouse, agreement with airport caterer, airline trolley cart availability and arrangement, uplift of inflight magazine.
• Personnel: Management and operational structure, including staff based in Hong Kong and their respective job titles.
• Technical Support: Inventory management system, payment methods and solutions, Inflight POS system, webpage development, sales report format and systems.
