



Mainland China travel restrictions

Destinations:
Beijing (BJS), Chongqing (CKG), Chengdu (CTU), Guiyang (KWE), Hangzhou (HGH),
Nanchang (KHN), Nanjing (NKG), Shanghai Pudong (PVG) and Shanghai Hongqiao
(SHA)
Starting from 15 March 2021, all
passengers travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing are required to present a
negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test result issued one of the testing
institutions recognised by the Hong Kong government within seven days before boarding.
The method of test specimen collection must be nasopharyngeal swabs or combined
nasal and throat swabs. Throat swabs would be the principal specimen collection
method for children aged under six.
Starting from 27 January 2021, all
passengers travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing are required to obtain a
negative COVID-19 test result issued by Hong Kong government recognised
laboratories and healthcare institutions within seven days before boarding. The
report should contain the following in Chinese or English:
- Passenger’s name
- Travel document number
- Test method
- Specimen collection time and
date
- Negative test result
- Date and time of issue
- Issuer’s signature
All travellers entering Beijing will be
subject to mandatory quarantine of 14 days upon arrival, followed by quarantine
at home or designated hotel for seven days and health monitoring for seven
days.
Starting from
17 August 2020, all passengers travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing are
required to undergo COVID-19 nuclei acid test 7 days before scheduled departure
of the flight, and present a negative test result before boarding. List of

From 28 March 2020, the entry of
foreign nationals holding valid entry visas and residence permits will be
temporarily suspended. Foreign nationals holding visas issued after 28 March
2020 will not be affected.
Passengers who meet any of the
following criteria are permitted to board, but may be subject to quarantine
requirements for 14 days upon arrival:
- Travelling on a People’s
Republic of China passport or China ID card that lists Hubei Province as the
place of issue.
- Visited Hubei Province in the
past 14 days prior to departure.
Exemptions
All inbound travellers (including
travellers from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and transit passengers),
regardless of their destinations, are required to take COVID-19 tests and to
undergo a 14-day quarantine before entering Guangdong and Shenzhen.
All Chinese citizens taking a direct or
transit flight to Mainland China are required to present a green A1/B1 health
code at the airport check-in counter of origin. Click the below links for more

International flights will operate
to/from Shanghai Pudong International Airport from 25 March 2020 to 24 June
2020.
Passengers transiting in Beijing
Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport will
undergo health management.
Short-stay business travellers must
stay in designated hotels and will not be allowed to leave without first being
tested for infection.
Destinations:
Haikou (HAK) and Sanya (SYX)
From 28 March 2020, the entry of
foreign nationals holding valid entry visas and residence permits will be
temporarily suspended. Foreign nationals holding visas issued after 28 March
2020 will not be affected.
Passengers who meet any of the
following criteria are not permitted to enter Hainan Island (Haikou Airport or
Sanya Airport):
- Travelling on a People’s
Republic of China passport or China ID card that lists Hubei Province as the
place of issue.
- Visited Hubei Province in the
past 14 days.
When entering Haikou:
Passengers detected with respiratory
symptoms including fever, chills, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, etc. during border
screening will be transferred to a designated medical centre for tests.
Passengers who meet one of the
following criteria will be subject to mandatory quarantine of 14 days upon
arrival:
- Departed from or have visited
areas with high number of infections.
- Had close contact with confirmed
cases.
Passengers transiting in Haikou are
subject to further screening and won’t be allowed to board their connecting
flight until approval is given.

Hong Kong Airlines staff will perform
document checks at the airport to confirm if passengers are eligible to travel
to destinations with restrictions in place. Passengers without checked baggage
and holding mobile or self-print boarding passes will be subject to document
check before boarding.
