Most of the Extra Legroom Seats are located next to the emergency exit doors, and that is subject to the flight safety guidelines from the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong. Passengers must meet the following safety requirements, and will not: obstruct emergency exits in a way of impeding the crew in their duties, obstruct access to emergency equipment, and hinder aircraft evacuation.
In compliance with the flight safety guidelines of the Civil Aviation Authority, passenger assigned with the Extra Legroom Seat located at Exit row must:
1.Be at least 18 years of age on the date of travel;
2.Not be seated with an infant;
3.Be able to understand and follow the safety instructions;
4.Not required of using extension seat belt (e.g pregnant passenger);
5.Not be a passenger with reduced mobility :
- Using of mobility aid during boarding such as wheelchair, walking stick or postural support equipment (PSE);
- Either permanently or temporarily passenger with reduced mobility including vision and hearing-impaired;
- Require of medical assistance
If a passenger does not meet the above safety requirements at the time of check-in, boarding or during the flight, Hong Kong Airlines may re-assign another seat with no refunds.
