Hong Kong Airlines to seek new talents at HKIA Career Expo 2019

Date: 2019-05-31

Hong Kong Airlines is seeking new talents to join its workforce at this year’s Hong Kong International Airport Career Expo. The annual event, which kicks off at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre today, will see more than 50 companies offer a range of job opportunities to support the rapid development of Hong Kong’s aviation industry.

As a participant of the Expo, Hong Kong Airlines will offer various positions within its operations for interested applicants. Together with Hong Kong Aviation Ground Service Limited (HAGSL), its wholly-owned subsidiary, some 100 vacancies in the airline’s frontline and engineering functions will be made available for candidates wishing to kickstart their careers in the aviation industry. To help potential recruits make important career choices, representatives from the airline also shared some valuable insights on working prospects in the company and the broader aviation scene at a career talk this evening.

As one of the home carriers of Hong Kong and youngest airlines in the world, Hong Kong Airlines is committed to sustaining its long-term growth. The airline has enjoyed unprecedented growth in the past 12 years and is now an international carrier covering 35 destinations across Asia Pacific and North America.

“Hong Kong Airlines will continue to manage its workforce based on our operational needs. At the same time, we remain committed to nurturing local talents who aspire to join the aviation industry and will continue with our efforts to promote Hong Kong as one of the world’s greatest aviation hubs,” said Ms Viola Wong, Hong Kong Airlines Director of Human Resources and Administration.

To support the development of local aviation talents, the Hong Kong Airlines Aviation Training Centre is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2019. Located at 28, Kwo Lo Wan Road at Chek Lap Kok, the 11-storey building covering an area of 5,858 square metres will provide state-of-the-art training facilities for aviation personnel covering ground and inflight operations.

The Hong Kong Airlines booth at the Expo is located at No. B1 of Hall 1E at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Opening hours are as follows:
