Entry requirements

Travellers with valid visas can enter South Korea, but there are restrictions.

Boarding and Testing requirements

·         Starting from 5 January 2023, travellers starting their trip in Mainland China can transit through Hong Kong International Airport to South Korea. However, proof of PCR Negative Confirmation Certificate for screening conducted within 48 hours or RAT Negative Confirmation Certificate for specialists for screening conducted within 24 hours before the date of departure is required. (Those without such certificate won’t be allowed to board the plane).

·         A PCR test within 24 hours after arrival in South Korea is required. Travellers who test positive may need to undergo quarantine on arrival.

·         All passengers are required to register for the Quarantine Information Pre-entry System (Q-CODE) before departure and present the generated QR code upon arrival.

·         Starting from 7 January 2023, travellers arriving from Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR are required to provide proof of PCR Negative Confirmation Certificate for screening conducted within 48 hours or RAT Negative Confirmation Certificate for specialists for screening conducted within 24 hours before the date of departure.

·         All passengers are required to register for the Quarantine Information Pre-entry System (Q-CODE) before departure and present the generated QR code upon arrival.

Exemptions

·         This testing requirement doesn't apply to travellers under the age of 6 or Korean citizens who were previously infected with COVID-19 and who have a positive COVID-19 PCR test result or professionally administered rapid antigen result from a test taken a maximum of 10 to 40 days before departure.

Hong Kong Airlines staff will perform document checks at the airport to confirm if passengers are eligible to travel to destinations with restrictions in place. Passengers without checked baggage and holding mobile or self-print boarding passes will be subject to document check before boarding.

Passengers will also be asked to declare their travel history to help us ensure eligibility to travel.
