Entry restrictions

-          Foreign nationals are not permitted to enter Mainland China.

-          Foreign nationals with an APEC Business Travel Card are not permitted to enter Mainland China.

-          Visa-free transit policies are suspended, including:

-          24/72/144-hour visa-free transit policy

-          Hainan 30 day visa-free policy

-          15-day visa-free policy specified for foreign cruise-group-tour through Shanghai Port

-          Guangdong 144-hour visa-free policy specified for foreign tour groups from Hong Kong or Macao SAR

-          Guangxi 15-day visa-free policy specified for foreign tour groups of ASEAN countries

 

 

Exemptions

-          Foreign nationals holding diplomatic, service, courtesy or C visa.

-          Foreign nationals with a visa issued after 28 March 2020.

-          Foreign nationals coming to the Mainland China for necessary economic, trade, scientific or technological activities or out of emergency humanitarian needs may apply for visas at Chinese embassies or consulates.

-          Foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit.

-          Foreign nationals with a residence permit with the purpose ‘work’, ‘personal matters’ or ‘reunion’.


COVID-19 test requirement

-          Passengers departing from or transiting through the Listed Countries are required to present negative result proof of a nucleic acid RT-PCR test for COVID-19 and a negative IgM antibody test result conducted within 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure of the aircraft. A positive IgM antibody test result could be accepted with COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

-          Passengers are required to present for green health codes with an “HS” mark or Health Declaration Forms by presenting COVID-19 negative certificates.

-          From 29 March 2022, passengers entering Mainland China from Hong Kong must undergo a COVID-19 rapid PCR-based nucleic acid test (the process takes about 2 to 3 hours) at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) with nasopharyngeal swabs samples collected within 8 hours prior to the departure time of their flight.  Passengers under three years old, government VIP and passengers with health problem and holding doctor certificate are exempted. -          Passengers travelling to Beijing from Hong Kong are required to undergo an additional COVID-19 nucleic acid test in a government-approved testing facility with either nasal swab or combined nasal and throat swab samples collected within 7 days prior to the scheduled time of departure of the flight. All passengers must obtain negative test results before check-in. Passengers without a valid test report will not be accepted for boarding.

 

-          Passengers travelling to Chongqing or Shanghai from Hong Kong are required to undergo an additional COVID-19 nucleic acid test in a government-approved testing facility with either nasal swab or combined nasal and throat swab samples collected within 48 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure of the flight. All passengers must obtain negative test results before check-in. Passengers without a valid test report will not be accepted for boarding.

Health declaration

-          All travellers must complete an “Exit/Entry Health Declaration Form” within 24 hours before entering or departing from Mainland China and present a QR code before departure.

-          Passengers travelling to Hong Kong  are required to complete the online Health Declaration with the negative result of the rapid antigen test (RAT) conducted within 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure of the flight.

-          Passengers travelling to Nanjing are required to additionally register with WeChat applet “Ning Yi Xing (宁易行)” before arrival, which can be searched with keywords “境外職工健康小助手”.

Quarantine requirements

All Passengers are subject to 7-day of quarantine at government designated facilities, followed by 3-day home quarantine and must follow instructions on quarantine procedures according to local authorities’ requirements.

 

 

Exit requirements

From 2 April 2022, passengers departing from Shanghai are required to provide test results of the following COVID-19 tests at check-in.

Negative result of PCR-based nucleic acid test with samples collected within 48 hours of the departure time of their flight. Negative result of Rapid Antigen Test (RATs) samples collected within 24 hours of the departure time of their flight. (The RATs test will be exempted if the PCR-based nucleic acid test samples are collected within 24 hours of the departure time of their flight.)

 

From 5 April 2022, passengers departing from Chengdu or Hangzhou are required to provide a negative PCR-based nucleic acid test with samples collected within 48 hours of the departure time of their flight and to present the health code at check-in.

 

From 6 June 2022, passengers departing from Beijing are required to provide a negative PCR-based nucleic acid test with samples collected within 48 hours of the departure time of their flight and to present the health code at check-in.

 

 

Hong Kong Airlines staff will perform document checks at the airport to confirm if passengers are eligible to travel to destinations with restrictions in place. Passengers without checked baggage and holding mobile or self-print boarding passes will be subject to document check before boarding.

Passengers will also be asked to declare their travel history to help us ensure eligibility to travel.
