Maldives Tax Refund

Following the introduction of Airport Development Fee (H9) and Airport Service Charge (BQ) by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority in the Republic of Maldives, all passengers departing from Velana International Airport, Malé (MLE) would be charged with additional taxes. 

 

Airport Development Fee (H9)

Effective and apply on tickets issued on or after 1 February 2017 for travel on or after 1 May 2017: 

  

• International Departures for foreigners/non-Maldivian nationals: USD 25  

• International Departures for Maldivian nationals: USD 12 

 

Airport service charge (BQ) 

Effective and apply on ticket issued on or after 13 May 2014 for travel on or after 1 July 2014: 

 

• International Departures for foreigners/non-Maldivian nationals: USD 25

• International Departures for Maldivian nationals: USD 12 

 

Maldives national or passengers travelling with Maldives passport who have paid both H9 and BQ taxes in full (USD 25 each), are entitled to apply for a tax difference refund. Please contact call.center@hkairlines.com for assistance.
