2006

"CR Airways Limited" was renamed as "Hong Kong Airlines Limited”.

Introduced the first Boeing B737 passenger aircraft and launched passenger services to cities in Mainland China.

2010

Operating fleet expanded to 10 aircraft with the introduction of the first Airbus A330 passenger aircraft.

Increased flight frequencies to Beijing, Shanghai and Bangkok.

First Airbus A330F cargo freighter joined the fleet and launched the first cargo service between Hong Kong and Hangzhou.

2011

First 4-star rating awarded by Skytrax.

Added new passenger services  to Okinawa and  Bali.

Passenger traffic exceeded one million, serving 19 destinations.

2012

Operating fleet size reached 20 aircraft and added Taipei to network.

Passenger traffic exceeded 2.5 million, serving 25 destinations.

First Airbus A320 passenger aircraft joined the fleet. 

2013

Operating an all-Airbus fleet.

Title sponsor of local TV drama series “Triumph in the Skies II".

Carried over four million passengers.

2014

Launched passenger routes to Ho Chi Minh City, Tianjin and Kagoshima.

2015

Launched Miyazaki, Yancheng and Nanchang services.

Increased flight frequencies to Bangkok, Kagoshima and Nanjing.

Awarded corporate and individual accolades under the HKIA Airport Safety Recognition Scheme.

2016

Launched services to Auckland, Cairns, Gold Coast, Kuching, Okayama, Osaka, Phnom Penh,  Saipan, Seoul, Tokyo and Yonago.

2017

Launched international routes to Vancouver and Los Angeles in North America.

Introduced the first Airbus A350 aircraft. 

Airport VIP lounge “Club Autus” officially opened.

Launched the inaugural  cadet pilot training programme.

Sponsored the Hong Kong Airlines Million Challenge Cup.

Ranked second in Skytrax’s ”Best Regional Airline Asia” and 24th in the “Top 100 Airlines”.

2018

Added San Francisco, Maldives, Manila and Moscow to network.

Collaborated with celebrity chefs Gabriel Choy and Chris Cosentino for enhanced inflight dining experience.

Topping-out of Hong Kong Airlines Aviation Training Centre.

Named  Skytrax’s Top 20 World’s Best 100 Airlines.

Launched new business cass product on Airbus A350, featuring  new seats and inflight entertainment system. 

2019

Official opening of HKA Training Academy with  the region’s most advanced training facilities.

2020

Operated Embrace “Home” Kong community flight.  

2021

Enhanced safe travel experience  with  HKIA contactless e-boarding service.

2022

Gradually restored flight operations after the pandemic.

2023

Embarked on a new chapter by securing strategic investment funds to drive the restructuring into effect.

Launched new routes to Beijing Daxing, Fukuoka, Phuket, Nagoya and Hakodate.

Added three Airbus A330-300 widebody aircraft to the fleet

Supported AAHK's 'World of Winners' air ticket giveaway campaign.

Organised the Company’s first large-scale outdoor public event.

2024

Added Vientiane, Da Nang, Xining, Taichung, Chiang Mai and Sendai to network.

Carried out cabin crew recruitment across Asia.

Relaunched “Embrace the World” Student Sponsorship Programme to give away 1,000 free tickets to local school community.

First Airbus A321 aircraft joined the fleet.

2025

Launched new routes to Sydney, Melbourne, Xi’an, Lijiang and Hulunbuir.

Partnered with China CITIC Bank to launch co-branded credit card.

Launched “We Serve with Heart” campaign for enhanced passenger experience in the air and on the ground.

Collaborated with Zurich Insurance (HK) to provide one-stop airline and travel insurance services.

Revamped Frequent Flyer points accrual programme.
