Notice to passengers travelling to or from Canada (Effective from 15 December 2019)

The following notice on “Air Passenger Protection Regulations” was released by the Government of Canada in both English and French:

If you are denied boarding, your flight is cancelled or delayed for at least two hours, or if your baggage is lost or damaged, you may be entitled to certain standards of treatment and compensation under the Air Passenger Protection Regulations.

Air carriers also publish their tariffs on their websites. The tariffs set out terms and conditions of carriage that apply to your travel. You may view these documents online or ask your carrier for a copy.

For more information about your passenger rights, please contact your air carrier or visit the Canadian Transportation Agency's website.

Further, the following texts will be incorporated in the company’s International Passenger Rules and Fares Tariff effective from 15 July 2019:-

“The obligations of the carrier under the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR) form part of the tariff and supersede any incompatible or inconsistent term and condition of carriage set out in the tariff to the extent of such inconsistency or incompatibility, but do not relieve the carrier from applying terms and conditions of carriage that are more favourable to the passenger than the obligations set out in the APPR.”
