Booking service charge on Hong Kong Airlines flights (effective from 1 April 2022)
Hong Kong Airlines will collect a booking service charge for tickets issued or re-issued from 1 April 2022.
The booking service charge will be levied on a per flight sector basis irrespective of fare type and included in the fare quoted on all sales channels.

Important notice:
- The booking service charge will be levied for all the Hong Kong Airlines flights that originate from outside of Hong Kong SAR (including the codeshare flights) and will not applied to flights that originate from Hong Kong SAR and the codeshare ferry services to/from Hong Kong International Airport.
- It applies to all passengers, including children and infants, regardless of class of travel, fare type, and place and channel of ticket sales.
- It is to be collected under the ticket code “YQ” in the tax box of the ticket.
- It will be calculated in US dollars, with the exception of ticket purchased in Hong Kong SAR which will be collected in the local currency.
- For the refundable tickets, the booking service charge will be refunded for the unused sector. For the non-refundable tickets, it will not be refunded even for the unused sector.
- It will not be levied again for ticket re-issuance if it has been included in the previous transaction.
- If the ticket is issued on or before 31 March 2022 and re-issued on or after 1 April 2022:
o The booking service charge will be levied for a completely unused ticket.
o The booking service charge will be waived for a partially used ticket.
